Memory and Emotions Curriculum Plan

Memories and emotions shape our lives.

How we deal with emotions and respond to memories can help us better cope with ourselves and others every day. Drawing upon emotionally significant memories and creating works of art will allow the individual to learn more about themselves and their peers. Groups who participate in this curriculum will use similar processes as several 21st Century artists. Participants will also engage in conversations about emotions and life events that can be atypical. The unit should encourage risk taking, increase self-awareness, and may contribute to an increase in resiliency and empathy.

ARTISTS STUDIED

Howard Hodkins, Sanjay Vora, Andrea Leria, Laslo Antal, and Shilouh
